Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

A serious and debilitating condition, PTSD is defined as an anxiety disorder that develops after exposure to a frightening event or ordeal, in which perceived threat or real physical harm has occurred. Family members of PTSD victims can develop the disorder as well. PTSD can occur in any time of life and can be developed from one experience or many. Oftentimes, Depression can occur as well as substance abuse, or other anxiety disorders. Consciously, we may or may not know what happened.
